Lumidigm V300 Description

V-Series Module fingerprint sensors from Lumidigm are built to capture high-quality images of fingerprints in difficult to capture scenarios. These include scenarios when the fingerprint ridges are hard to distinguish due to, finger placement, genetics, age, dirt, finger or environmental conditions. V300 enables capturing of such prints by capturing the subsurface fingerprints of an individual to increase the biometric device’s performance. Thus V300 is effective on all varieties of people. It also results in more accurate fingerprinting which in turn results in applications getting more secure. V300, thus, reduces unnecessary overheads of management and enhances end-user experience.

Apart from the end-user advantages, V300’s superior technology enables higher throughput or more results (fingerprint scans) in lesser time. The V300 runs on a lightweight sensor which is small in size but is nevertheless equipped with multiple interfaces for communication. These interfaces allow it to be easily integrated with any system and it provides three output options viz. template, fingerprint image and match score.

The perfect fingerprint module (OEM) for YOU!

V-Series Module V300 is designed for easy integration into any system and eliminate performance problems associated with conventional fingerprint sensors.

Industry Leading

The Lumidigm V-series fingerprint scanners provide accurate and powerful biometric authentication no matter the condition of the skin or the environment. You can rely on V-series to provide you with great quality images for any finger, at any time and in any environment.

Image is Everything

The multispectral imaging technology, that Lumidigm use, reads the surface and subsurface of a finger simultaneously. This brings you clear images each and every time even when the surface of the finger is hard to read due to age, particulates, finger pressure, and other skin and environmental issues. The sensors are able to detect and scan every fingerprint even if it has gotten past a conventional sensor. Limidigm’s V-series fingerprint scanners can solve any Failure to Enroll (FTE) and Failure to Acquire (FTA) issues you’ve been having.

Superior Performance

The Lumidigm V-series fingerprint sensors deliver the best performance through improving the throughput, accuracy, speed, and security of your application. Limidigm can solve all of your problems and frustrations by delivering the best images every time thanks to their advanced patented technology.

Superior Liveness Detection

Lumidigm removes the more common problems experienced by other fingerprint sensors. This fingerprint scanner   captures  detailed images of the surface and subsurface of a finger, thereby not allowing fake fingers to gain access.  s. Thus it’s impossible to spoof this reader. Lumidigim provide only the best fingerprint sensors available. So far they have been tested using over 20,000 samples of fake fingers that were all detected.

Lumidigm V300 Technology Advantage

Lumidigm’s patented multispectral imaging technology provides the most secure, convenient, and reliable fingerprint scanning technology available in the marketplace. It works on any type of fingers , regardless of any skin and environmental conditions.

This multispectral imaging was created specifically to solve the scanning issues found with regular fingerprint readers. The technology uses multiple spectrum of light and combines that with advanced optical techniques. It captures the most unique aspects of the fingerprint from the surface and subsurface of the skin. It is important to capture the subsurface because any ridges on the surface begin in the subsurface (capillaries and other sub-dermal areas). So  when you capture the subsurface, you can see the whole finger no matter what the condition or environment.  any given condition or environment.

Dry conditions

Having dry fingertips is a common issue and is usually caused by harsh environment, constant hand washing, and is sometimes just a natural characteristic of the skin. Dry fingers make it hard to scan fingerprints for regular fingerprint readers available in the market. Multispectral imaging technology is able to overcome this issue and can capture quality fingerprints.

Diverse demographics

Biometrics can be used to identify people because  biometric traits are unique to each person. Despite this some fingerprint biometrics systems have trouble working with diverse populations. Multispectral imaging is able to identify people no matter their demographic, their ethnicity, age, or lifestyle.

Wet conditions

Moisture is a fairly common real world condition. Some environments are naturally damp, due to climate (London) or setting (a spa). Some people have moist hands. Multispectral imaging technology captures high-quality images even in wet conditions.

Rugged conditions

Most fingerprint scanners require a clean finger and recommend user to wash and lotion their hands before scanning. Multispectral imaging technology works with anyone at any time, whether they are at home, office, or even on  field. It solves the problem of rugged conditions. Lumidigm’s multispectral imaging technology has been proven time and time again to be the best and most versatile technology in the biometrics industry.

Liveness Detection

There are a number of ways out there, from the expensive to the inexpensive, to fool fingerprint scanners. These are called spoofs and some of these fake fingerprints are so thin and difficult to notice they can be used even in controlled environments manned by trained attendants.

The Lumidigm V-series uses patent-protected liveness detection that looks beyond the skin and can tell the difference between live skin and copies of fingerprint features in less than a second. Multispectral imaging goes beyond the regular contact-based measurements to bring you more than just the best biometrics technology. It also has the best liveness detection around. . It provides protection from published and unpublished methods of producing and using finger copies  that people use to fool conventional fingerprint scanners.

Lumidigm’s liveness detection is built using machine learning algorithms that are updated when new spoofing methods are found. This capability to learn is another thing that sets Lumidigm fingerprint scanners apart from conventional scanners. It ensures Lumidigm scanners evolve and keep up with the threats of tomorrow.

It’s important to remember that all the published literature out there on creating fake fingerprints and testing anti-spoofing technology is based on copies made using willing participants. While it is possible to obtain a latent print from a not so willing participant, it would be very difficult to create a  high enough quality fingerprint copy to both match the subject’s print and get past the liveness detection system.
