Griaule WSQ
|
 |
|
Griaule WSQ is a Software Development Kit (SDK) that allows you to add compression, decompression and fingerprint image exchange capabilities into your AFIS systems.
WSQ format is the result of the Wavelet Scalar Quantization (WSQ), a Gray-Scale Fingerprint Image Compression Algorithm. Other compressed file formats, like jpeg and tiff, are not optimized for fingerprints: a fingerprint image stored in those formats would lose important information, becoming almost unreadable by an AFIS. WSQ file format, however, was made for compressing fingerprint reader images, achieving a high compression ratio and almost no loss of quality.
WSQ is widely used by FBI and many other agencies as the standard mechanism and format for exchanging and storage of fingerprint images. This makes your applications able to exchange images with similar ones, e.g., among the image databases of law enforcement agencies in a country.
Features:
-
Comes with full-features sample programs in C#, Visual Basic 6.0, VB.Net, Java, C++.Net, and Delphi.
-
File compression ratio is controlled by the user.
-
Supports all sizes of fingerprint, palm print and footprint images.
-
Allows file conversions between WSQ and TIFF, BMP, JPG, PNG and GIF formats.
-
Griaule AFIS WSQ SDK is based on Griaule's WSQ algorithm, which is certified by FBI for multiple platforms.

| The control you need |
The file compression ratio is controlled by the application.
|
| Biometric compression for all |
It supports all sizes of fingerprint, palm print and footprint images
|
|
The fingerprint image just as you need
|
It also allows file conversions between WSQ and TIFF, BMP, JPG, PNG and GIF formats

Windows and Linux support |
| Independence of sensor |
The software needs only the fingerprint image to be used. Usually, the fingerprint reader manufacturers do not provide software for compressing/decompressing fingerprint images
|
| Easy and intuitive |
Simple interface available as an ActiveX (COM) and DLL

Use your preferred programming language
|
The Fingerprint SDK supports multiple programming languages including Java, Delphi, Visual Basic, C++, .NET, FoxPro and many others.
|
| Easy to learn |
With the several samples delivered with the WSQ SDK, everything needed to develop in the supported languages is showed as example! The samples are provided in several languages, along with their source code.

"We currently have around 30 gyms in Mexico and South America, with around 30,000 customers. Our system uses Griaule technology to allow customers to sign in with their fingerprint, thus letting them forget their unique number. Also, to have better control on trainers and other employees, our software includes a module that makes them check in and out using their fingerprint.
We have found GrFinger to be very easy to use, simple to install and able to work with Microsoft Fingerprint Reader, which has the advantage of being found at your local Office Depot." -
