Futronic SDK - Linux Fingerprint Recognition SDK

Futronic SDK - Linux Fingerprint Recognition Software Development Kit(SDK) is an excellent tool for users to develop their own Linux based fingerprint recognition application software.

Futronic SDK - Linux Fingerprint Recognition Software Development SDK can be integrated into any application program to REPLACE the users' Logon password by a touch of finger in Linux platform to make your system more secure and user administration easier.

The Fingerprint SDK for Linux allows users to perform fingerprint recognition, fingerprint verification , fingerprint authentication & fingerprint scanning. Thereby, enabling software developers to develop custom fingerprint security applications such as authorization system, transaction system, time and attendance, point of sale identification and physical access control with authentication through fingerprint.

  Who is it for?

  • Application software developers who want to add secure but convenient fingerprint authentication into any Linux based application software.

  • The SDK can be used to develop application programs for both standalone PC and many PCs connected in any networking environment.

  Features:

  • Includes header files that define API, libraries, and sample code for GNU C/C++ on x86 based hardware platform.

  • Tested on the following x86 based hardware:
       - Redhat, OpenSuse, Debian, Fedora Core, Knoppix, Ubuntu

  • Captures fingerprint images

  • Extracts fingerprint characteristics (minutiae) from the captured image and creates a template which can be used:
       - For registration, the template will be stored in the database
       - For authentication, the template will be matched to pre-registered template

  • Supports 1-to-1 and 1-to-many fingerprint matching

  • Recognition accuracy, FAR & FRR, can be adjusted to suit security requirements

  • Supports Live Finger Detection (LFD) when used with supported scanner

  • Standard SDK package includes example programs with source code to show how to use the SDK

Operating System:

Linux
All Linux platforms with kernel 2.4 or after.

  Further Explanation:

  • For registration, the fingerprint image is captured by using a fingerprint scanner. Then the system extracts the fingerprint's characteristics (minutiae) from the captured image and creates a fingerprint registration template which is stored in any non-volatile memory space.

  • For user authentication, fingerprint is captured again and the system creates an accessing fingerprint template. The system compares the accessing template with the registered template to determine if there is a "match" or "no match".

  • If a user ID is provided, the system will compare the accessing template to the registered template of this particular user ID. This is called verification (1-to-1 matching).

  • If a user ID is not provided, the system will compare the accessing template to all the registered templates stored in the system. This is called identification (1-to-many matching).
