FS88 FIPS 201/PIV - USB Fingerprint Scanner

FS88 FIPS 201/PIV USB Fingerprint Scanner is an enhanced version of FS80 USB2.0 Fingerprint Scanner. It was certified by FBI to be compliant with PIV-071006 Image Quality Specification for Single Finger Reader. FS88 meets the US Federal Information Processing Standard 201(FIPS 201) for Personal Identification Verification (PIV) of Federal Employees and Contractors. It is also listed in the US General Services Administration (GSA) FIPS 201 Evaluation Program Approved Product List

FS88 USB Fingerprint Scanner uses an advanced CMOS sensor technology and precise optical system to meet the rigorous requirement on fingerprint image quality of PIV-071006.

A unique serial number is factory-programmed into the USB Device Descriptor of each FS88. So every FS88 is traceable and this is very important for government identity management projects.

The finger is illuminated by 4 infra-red LED's during scanning and the light intensity is automatically adjusted according to scanning fingerprint's characteristics (wet, dry, blurred, etc) to optimized the quality of the captured fingerprint image.

Software developers can use this device with various Fingerprint SDKs to develop customized fingerprint matching software solutions. This USB fingerprint scanner is widely used for fingerprint recognition, fingerprint verification, fingerprint authentication & fingerprint scanning applications.

  • Captures an un-distorted raw fingerprint image into PC in 100ms and is good for any fingerprint recognition application
  • Live Finger Detection: Special electronic circuit is built into FS80 so that only live finger's will be scanned into PC. Fake fingers made from silicone rubber, play-doh, etc. will be rejected
  • Secret Code Feature: The secret code feature essentially functions as a hardware key for the software applications. This secret code can only be read/written by the software developer and its application. Without knowing the secret code, the scanner will not be able to work with the software application.
  • Supports: Fingerprint recognition, fingerprint verification, fingerprint authentication, fingerprint scanning & fingerprint matching applications.
